Why Can T I Cash My Money Order

No PNC will cash my money orders

I have pnc and they will not let me deposit the money orders into my account since they aren't PNC money orders. Looks like I'm going to lose 90 bucks on all 6 of them for not even getting tickets. this is beat

Edit: So an update: I went to a different PNC today and the teller deposited them no problem. So glad I don't have to deal with Western union and lose money.

I wrote "Not used for purchase intended" and deposited them at Chase today. One teller was confused but her superior immediately told her to deposit them and offered condolences on not getting tickets.

i also bank with PNC.

Had no problem depositing my USPS MOs... just wrote - "no used for intended purposes"

a week later a different teller refused my wife's MOs... had to have her look at the deposit from the previous week to show that it didn't bounce.... she eventually took it.

Try depositing them into your account at drive through window without getting cash back. For some reason taking them into a teller and asking for the cash draws more scrutiny. There's always returning them to the the post office with the receipt in hand- assuming they're USPS money orders.

They are western union money orders. I had no idea western union was such a shitty company when I bought them.

Oh, and I wasn't trying to get the cash, I was trying to deposit them into my account.

Change banks or open a new account. Wells Fargo let me deposit my $$$$

I used Western Union as well. Write on the back of the money order "not used for intended purpose". My Wells Fargo teller suggested this like it was supposed to be common knowledge. You can imagine how relieved I was after hearing that news.

I did that. I went to 3 different PNCs and the manager at each one said they cannot allow that since they are western union and not PNC money orders.

I had to basically sit them down and explain. They made 3 phone calls to get to the right regional manager to tell them yeah to go ahead. Took me over an hour.

Edit: Also my roommate had to go to 3 different PNCs until the 3rd did it no problem.

My bank let me write GDSTOO "or 1vibe" on them and deposit them to my acct.

WU sucks I got rejected. 7 money orders 9.00 40.00 40.00 40.00 191.00 191.00 191.00 WU charges an absurd 15.00 fee per money order to refund a money order. There is no talking to WU about this. The money order help line is just a menu of recordings, cannot get a live person. If you call the WU 800 number, they will refuse to answer questions about money orders and direct you to the money order help number which is just a menu of recordings I have Bank of America, my branch refused to allow me to deposit. I could have gone to another branch, maybe closer to the hood where money orders are common. Instead I went to a check cashing place, AMSCOT. They cashed them without hesitation, about a 40.00 fee. The fee sucks but have over 600 cash in my pocket.

I have Chase. Bank teller told me to cross off GDSTOO and write my name and initial the cross off. Then I just deposited the money into my checking account. Open up a Chase account if there is one in your area.

I had USPS MO's, not WU.

When I was at Bank of America, In the pay to order field, GDTS TOO takes up little room, asked BOA if I could write my name after GDTS TOO . They said no.

Go back to USPS and they will reissue in your name for $1.50
